Default Cat Lover question

I am looking for creative ideas on where to put a litter box in a Gardenia. When we become frogs, Harley Cat will be making the move from good old Ohio. So, looking for creative ideas.......

In the laundry room. Remove or modify laundry sink or pantry.

That confirms a thought we had.....possibly take one of the doors off of the cabinet Is that what you did? I had the sink move to the garage.

That's exactly where we put ours, under the sink in the laundry room. However we didn't need to modify anything since we have the stand alone utility sink rather than the cabinet kind!

I know several people who have put the cat boxes in the bathtub. Easier to clean, out of sight (just put a rug or beach towel on the tub floor. Obviously, this only works if you don't take baths and only use that bathroom for guests.

We cut and put a cat door in one of smaller linen closets outside of the guest bathroom. No one even notices it!

Does that mean the box is in the closet, or does the cat door go outside?

Ours is in our laundry room. We have a stack W/D, so plenty of room for it.

We were lucky to buy a model that doesn't have a walk through laundry room this time. That is the kitties bedroom suite. And they go in there at night to their baskets quite willingly. That makes their four A.M. Wake UP nudging and please open the can NOW meowing a thing of the past.

And if the cat co- operates! Since the litter box would need to be relocated when company arrives. I've always found that older cats are very finicky about where their cat boxes are located.

We are talking about your cat. Put litter boxes throughout your home, and you can live the lifestyle in your laundry room! After all, it is a priviledge to live in THEIR home.

My spoiled-rotten Omega has three pans!

One in the laundry - under a shelf I had put in instead of a sink.

One under the lower-set vanity in the Master Bath. (As a widower, I don't use this amenity! Obviously, not an option for couples, or, probably a single lady!)

And, one on the lanai, just outside the masterbed room slider. Access is pretty much 24/7 as the slider is open about 6" and locked there.

She usually uses each one between my daily cleanups.

We had a framed enclosure (box) built that was big enough for a very large litter box. The enclosure has a hinged top and front. The back side of the enclosure is totally open.

We put the enclosure in the garage with the open side against the wall with the laundry room. We then cut a hole in the wall for a cat door so that the cats can enter the litter box enclosure from the laundry room without them being able to get out into the garage. The weight of the enclosure, litter box and extra litter I keep in the box are enough to prevent the cats from being able to move the enclosure. We have a mat we purchased from one of the pet stores that the cats have to step on when they exit the litter enclosure through the cat door so that they don't track litter into the house proper.

So far it has worked well for us.

How about on one of the little man-made island in the pond adjacent to Buena Vista Blvd on the Arnold Palmer golf course? Of course, there is an alligator that also claims those little islands but it might prove interesting.

I have two cats and I put the litter box in the master bathroom under the vanity seek. Never had a problem and never smells.
