I visited the Villages last week. I stayed near Spanish Springs on Avalon. I noticed there seems to be a Verizon dead zone/poor coverage in that area...also noticed it on previous visits when staying in the Marriot in Spanish Springs. Is it just my phone?

Verizon probably has the best overall coverage in the Villages but you can always hit a dead zone with any carrier. Before we bought we checked the cell signal. One house we looked at had such a strong signal I thought my phone was broke... then I walked out into the back yard and there was a cell tower not 300 feet from the house. We don't like a strong signal that much. Passed on that house.

We've had Verizon for the 10-1/2 years we've lived here and have had ZERO problems anywhere in TV. No dropped calls, no failure to connect, etc.

We have Verizon, there are at least 2 dead zones, Micro Racetrack road, and Spanish Springs Bowling alley. Someone (hopefully Verizon) is building a new cell tower on Micro Racetrack road, when I complained to Verizon they indicated that they were installing additional facilities.

Sometimes depends on what kind of phone you have, there not created equal. As an example my Iphone gets a stronger signal then my Lg clam phone in the house. Plus less dropped calls on the Iphone also.
