Monday afternoon our Golf Cart was parked legally in front of Cal's Barbershop at LS.. it was hit by a black car.. which kept on going.. Luckily my husband was already in the barbershop and no one else was hurt , but our cart ended up on the sidewalk. So yes, drive defensively everyone.. And I hope Karma plays a part for the black car that kept going after the accident ...

Hitting and running is getting very common in Florida, including killing people. WHERE is personal responsibility? I guess we have to be sympathetic to the poor drivers personality disorder. TIRED of this. AND feel so bad for you Jaggy, who just like the rest of us, put in many hours to earn the money to buy your cart.

I often see these pulled into a parking space with the front wheels against the curb and the back club rack sticking out into the street. These racks are usually black and not easy to see.

That seriously bites. I'm so sorry this happened. Here's hoping there was more damage to the slimebag's car than to your cart.
Sadly, the penalties in Florida for a hit and run are lower than for a DUI. So, it seems that some feel running is the better course and, of course, they might never get caught. Personal responsibility, morals and ethics seem to take a back seat.

I'd like to hear from the person that hit and ran. As you get older you hope your moral compass is still working and over rides any panicky situation that might kick in to run away. My guess someone is sitting at home now totally distraught over what they done and why they ran away. I can't explain why that's the first possible scenario that jumps in my mind.
I feel sorry for everyone and hope insurance takes care of the bills. My opinions are rarely popular. So I'll probably do \\\\\ in a little while. |

I suppose not likely. But in my imagination they are beating themselves up and worrying about the police and other legal action. I said I don't know why that's my reaction. Let's just leave it at that.

If that is the case, IMHO, they should be worrying about the owners of the cart and the financial impact on them, as well as being thankful no one was hurt, and NOT worrying about getting caught by the police or sued by a lawyer. They are NOT the victims

Most likely the driver had no current license, no insurance, had a warrant or was drunk. Just a few reasons why. He would have been in more trouble if he stayed around. Just a few reasons and am sure there's more possibly
