My guess is Amica is in the minority as far as a mutual insurance company that returns profits to policyholders. Liberty and Nationwide are two large mutual insurers that don’t return profits directly to policyholders.

My hurricane premium was lowered to 0. So was my coverage. Cost reduction by Formost, now known as Farmers. Point of interest. They did not even notify me. I got a letter from my mortgage firm.

Prices don’t go down when there are no hurricanes, but they certainly go up when there are. What’s a kick in the a$$ this year is that replacement costs have gone up while property values have generally declined. So you’re paying more to insure your home that very well might have a lower market value.
