Default Homeowner policy cancelled?

Did anyone else receive a notice that their policy was being cancelled. American Integerty Insurance of Florida just sent me a notice of cancellation because "they have an over concentration of exposure in your area." My area is the Village of Summerhill and I've had this policy for 3 years. No new houses are being built in my neighborhood. What gives?

The "big" insurance companies such as State Farm have long sense pulled out of Florida. Their analysis and underwriters determined that their "exposure" was too much of a liability. Look for more companies doing the same. Private enterprise at its best!

We just closed on our new home in the Village of Charlotte, and AAA (agent CarrieAnn..not sure on name spelling) was fantastic, and was lower cost than the insurance company recommended by the Villages sales and loan people. They (AAA) even beat The Hartford AARP rates for our cars, so we bundled home and cars with AAA.

Check with AAA (agent CarrieAnn, not sure on spelling of her name at the moment). We just closed on our new home in Charlotte...AAA beat the prices of the insurance agenciess recommended by the Villages sales and loan people, and they were even less than AARP The Hartford for our cars, so we now have both home and autos with AAA.

Private enterprise acting responsibly to limit the exposure to excessive risks. Wish money center banks had also been more careful. MHO

Just got my renewal notice from Ark Royal. All coverages, including sink hole included, however rate up a little over $100. Letter cites change in Fl law and large hurricane losses last year.

Whatever you do, do not call Rutland Insurance. They are the most unethical and dishonest company I have ever dealt with.

She was very good, even sent me an email reminder to cancel my old auto policy a few days before the new policy was to take effect so I didn't waste any money.

Tell her Jeff, (previously) from Arizona referred you. We closed 12/28

I am moving to Fl and my insurance company said they are not writing new policies due to the concentration of risk. I would believe them and start shopping.
I have been working with Diane Digristina at AAA and she seems to be very good.

Rutland cancelled our policy in TV after a few weeks due to a claim I had in another house in another county with another insurance agent. Weird! Why have insurance if you get punished for Using it!

Was it the exposure or the fact that Florida insurance regulators would not allow rate increases that would allow the big companies to make any profit here?
