No HOA. There is the VHA and POA. Google both.

POA = Property Owner's Association which is not associated with the Developer and is a counter-balance to the VHA, which is basically a propaganda club for the Developer.

I belong to both though, because sometimes the truth is somewhere between the two viewpoints.

Obviously the second link I posted is not allowed on this page. You can google it.

Neither the POA or VHA are Homeowner Association in the true nature of their meaning ,operation and extent of responsibility and authority

Our organizations are similar to lobbyists. They have no authority, no enforcement, they don't create rules or ordinances. They both work for constituents (us) and provide pretty good communications. We belong to both as it's interesting to get two opinions on issues. Sometimes they even agree.

I wish I had a accurate count of the dozens of times the POA has stepped up and protected the rights of we residents. In my 19 years here in the Villages I cannot recall a single time the VHA did something that directly benefited the residents.

Wow.

As a 19 year resident and someone who seems pretty level-headed, that says a lot.

The two things that come to mind are "Golf Cart Safety Program" and the "Helping Hands Program"
