Yep American Integrity is pricing themselves out of the market , we left them and went with Farmers, great coverage and rate without roof mitigation fees.

Do yourself a favor and use a reputable insurance broker. They are not owned by ONE insurance company. They shop and compare for you, to get you the best out there for your money. Lassiter-Ware Insurance Brokers are excellent. Gina helped me. First class.

We, too, had our roof replaced last year. As it was 14 years old we didn’t even approach our insurance company as we knew it was wear and tear and not a storm doing the damage. Several of our neighbors had their roofs replaced and most of them were completely paid for by insurance. I don’t understand how one can get full replacement cost on a 14 year old house. I worked at insurance agency in IL and things like that were usually prorated. Luckily our insurance rates have held steady but I can see why the rates are going up with the payouts insurance companies are making.

Lassiter-Ware has told me they are currently shopping "writers", and will get back with me by 3/11/22. 11 yrs. with Tower and they are dropping me 5/11/22. L-W says they will make me replace roof, hot water heater and HVAC. At least $20K......!!!

Kin charges me HALF of what my ins company raised rates to. Exact same coverage.

That's becasue their coverage includes catastrophic sinkhole damage which is probably what you are going to get. You would have to pay for any other small sink hole damage.

All insurance companies should be checked for their financial stability and integrity. I had Allstate for all of my policies in NY and the homeowner's policy was a subsidiary of Allstate that I found out was in precarious financial shape. My Alllstate agent never advised me of this. Gave them the boot. Now I have State Farm and it is one of most financially secure companies.

I'm in the same boat. Went from less than a grand to about $1500 last year. Said it was due to "Irma". Right. Never heard of "Kin". Can you (or anyone) provide more details re this ins outfit. Many thanks! OldWidowLadyfromMaine

All homeowners policies in Florida are required by law to cover damage from "Catastrophic Ground Collapse". "Sinkhole" coverage is an additional optional type of coverage that not all companies offer for all houses. It's complicated, but the basic difference is that, without sinkhole coverage, your house needs to be condemned for occupancy in order to collect on the policy. I have Progressive insurance through The Villages Insurance, and it does cover sinkhole damage. But, they may not offer sinkhole coverage for all houses.

We bought in The Villages last July and I shopped around with all the carriers plus The Villages Insurance. We had State Farm back in Iowa but they were much higher than everyone else I got a quote from. We went with Farmers Insurance with the agent out of Wildwood. Great coverage and the best rate!! House, car & golf cart!

Kin would not quote without a phone call. Ended application and now get calls every few hours. Annoying
