Default Relocated Hurricane Sandy Victims

Are there any Hurricane Sandy victims here? Went to open houses yesterday and a sales rep said there are many of us here in TV. I've been here many times, but for some reason, this time it feels like I'm Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. Very eerie. Maybe it's Survivor's Guilt?

mgm4444,
We are Sandy victims AND survivors. The entire first floor + garage of our home was destroyed with 3+ feet of seawater and muck. Right now we are in the rebuilding phase and it will be quite a while until we are back in our home. Although we did not relocate to TV, we did have our design appointment in mid-November and spoke to our rep about rescheduling once we knew what we were facing. In the end, since there wasn't much we could do in NJ since insurance and contractors were working, we chose to keep our appointment. Our closing in TV is set for mid-February.
We are very bkessed - We are safe and relocated for now in NJ, but in our hearts, we have "relocated" to TV. It is probably the one thing that has lifted our spirits during this entire disaster.

Rb,
So glad to hear you have a silver lining - but thoughts and prayers are with you, still. I live in Long Beach (NY) so I don't have to tell you. Couldn't even evacuate 12 hours before the storm. They say it's still a war zone. Are you getting any feedback about air quality? And, on a cheerier note, where are you building in TV?

Yup. The first floor of our house on Long Island, NY is now gutted.

Over the past 37 years, we had been flooded at times, but it was never high enough to get into the house. This time, we had about 5 feet of water in the garage and nearly 3 feet in the house.
