Default Health Care Question

Hey all... I have a question that may not apply to everyone. I am 55 years old and moving to the villages. I will have health care with PHCS through my husband's employer for three more years. I also have Tri-Care as my husband was retired military. I won't be eligible for Medicare for another TEN years! Does anyone out there have any advice as far as doctors and/or clinics in The Villages or close thereto that accepts regular insurance (with or without the secondary insurance)? I would also love to hear from any retired military and their experiences with Tri-Care in the area. I basically just need a General Practitioner for the time being. Fingers crossed I won't need anything more involved for awhile yet!

I am a navy case manager and deal with tricare daily in the base clinic I work .the question is what type of tricare you now have if you are tricare prime you have a primary care provider @ a military clinic. . The tricare web site is a wealth of information and you may need to consider changes in the type of tricare you will continue have to maximize your coverage. If you are near a tricare office they have people who can assist with all your question's.You want to be sure when you select a provider that they are in network for both your primary and your tricare hope this is helpful

I am retired military and have had zero issues using TriCare Standard with any health care providers we have utilized in the TV. I have a supplement as well and they accept it also.

Quick question: I will be moving to the villages in two weeks, so I am not familiar yet with everything. Is there a "military clinic" at the Villages? Or, are you working at a base? Which base? Where near The Villages can I get care for retired Military and their families? I am currently trying to decide whether to continue to pay for the health care through my husband's company or just stick with Tri-Care? Thanks for any help!

No I am still in nj I do not know if there is any base you could treat at near the villages. Tri care standard ptovides for you to treat in the community with co pays and deductables you need to compare your out of pocket cost if you drop your current primary and make tricare you primary insurance. I would take a look at the tricare/health net web site or call1877-tricare
