Default Help needed from someone with a metal detector

I need help from someone with a metal detector to find the metal pins that define our property line. I searched the club listing and could not find a metal detecting club.

We are going to build an addition and I need to know where the pins are so I can maximize our addition. The plat map does not agree with the boundary as explained to us by by VCDD. Pins trump plats when identifying property lines according to T & D (our contractor).

Can anyone help me out? I certainly would appreciate it.

Nope.

Your property is defined in the deed. The deed refers to the subdivision plat.
Good luck applying for a building permit with the plan not in agreement with the plat.
Property corner markers do not reinvent the boundary or everyone would move them to their advantage. Please refer to your survey.

if there is any uncertainty about your boundaries, It would serve you well to pay for a full survey. It's not a lot of cost considering what could happen if you get it wrong.

I agree with above, T&D has no skin in the game, unless you get the contract to include a damages clause if the extension is built across the line (good luck with that). The survey will be money well spent, also protects you if a neighbor complains.

I always said the easiest way to get the property lines established is to put a couple of tall stakes in the ground a couple of feet into the neighboring property. Neighbor rushes to the phone to hire a civil engineer to survey the line. Voila!! Lines surveyed!! Didn't cost a dime.

You would be wise to heed this advice.
