I think many people staying at Eastport Hotel are either visiting friends or relatives living in the Eastport area, or are participating in Middleton school events. I see lots of younger people. I think the location is the key.

From what I have seen (in reviews and on-line images), the rooms are nothing fancy but perfectly nice.

I don't think it is expensive unless you consider $150-$200/night, including fees and tax, expensive.

To me, the only problem with the Hotel is that it is independent so you can't use or accumulate Marriot or Hilton points (depending on whether you are a Marriot or Hilton person). Seniors with 1M+ Marriott points don't like paying cash for Hotels. Very limited Marriott options around here.

Steak house next door? What would that be? Menu at the restaurant in the hotel gives no breakfast options, but states it is open during breakfast hours.

They were looking at both resales and new houses. The hotel at Sumter (Waterside?) was better priced and had access to more restaurants including breakfast places.
Waterside would be a better choice. Everything you need is walkable.

I think it’s Waterfront
