Default Stench is awful

Played Bacall yesterday and the smell on holes 2 and 3 were awful.

There have been other Threads on this but the bottom line is nothing has been done to alleviate the situation.

You got to believe that the home owners along hole 2 have reported this many times. Where is the Florida EPA? How can this Utility get by with this?

It's a sewage treatment plant with open storage/digester tanks. Periodically it will smell like low tide or a septic tank. location..location...location.

When homes were purchased close to this utility, was a disclosure required? A New home by the Developer and by the homeowner on a resale. Newbees may not be aware. Building homes this close----seems wrong as a public health issue. Utilities are regulated but perhaps not regarding building homes close to a sewer plant.

I don't have a dog in this fight but I can eliminate Bacall as a golf course choice. Perhaps a TOTV "regular" who lives close by can shed some light on the sewer plant.

What village would this be in? I am moving to TV this Spring and presently looking for a home. Sure do not want this problem.

It is the southern Part of Largo. If click on the map in the listing you can see the circles and buildings at the North east corner of Buena Vista and Bonita Blvd. Across Buena Vista I think is the Mount Vernon villas in Liberty Park.

We live on
Mount Vernon and have never smelled anything. We live across from the treatment plant. Are you sure it was the treatment plant?

Buyers have to be aware of things that are closeby and may not be mentioned by a sales agent.

The horse farm next door and not Villages property might very well become your Costco warehouse; the sewage treatment plant may be hidden by trees or hills but the smell does gets through; the train whistle that sounds so peaceful in the distance sounds much different when the track is 500 feet from your house; and the kissing lanai might be super if you have a quiet neighbor but how about when they put in a swimming pool that backs up to your property line?

Be aware of what may happen. That is one good reason to buy a resale home in an established neighborhood - along with much lower bond and many other reasons.

It could be the fertilizer on the golf course and the direction of the wind.
