I know this has been brought up before, I believe by The Village Tinker , I am trying to see if I can get a hold of the original house plans for the home I just purchased. It was built in 2013. If anyone has some info on this please let me know.

If the house is in Sumter County then you can find all the plans online at eTrakit permit search. You will have to go through the permits but the first one usually has all of the plans attached to it.

Use "site address" "contains" your street name...

I had to include the street number to get a result, but the result was perfect! Full specs, including blueprints! I was a little surprised that the design specs said 100 mph. I actually expected a bit higher.

eTrakit is also a good resource for those considering a pre-owned home, especially to confirm the existence of appropriate permits being pulled for certain work.

The only thing I can get is a printout of the actual permit itself. Can't get many other details. Only 2 permits are listed: The original one and a warranty re-roofing done in 2014 but no other details (that i can find and I have clicked on everything). I do see inspections listed and the various contractors but no details like plans or blueprint.



Am I missing something or are the details gone after 9 years?

It may be that 9 years ago they didn't attach the plans.

But the original permit should have a tab called "info". Click on that tab and at the bottom should be a section called attachments you should see on attachment with a name that contains something like "PermitPlansSealed". That's the .pdf file with the plans in it. Your browser should be able to open it.

In any case things like what get save and how they are named for things like permits changes all the time so you may have to go through all the permits listed for you house to find the plans, and it may be that when you house was build the plans were not filed in eTrackit.

Unfortunately nothing to see for me. Went through every clickable link for my address. There were only 2 permits to look at. I guess they didn't do it for our place. Going to check a couple other addresses just to see.

Just checked my sister's place (4yrs old) and all info was there. Guess they didn't do it for older locations.

I recall going in 2006 to the permit dept in Klamath Falls, OR for house plan and permits on our house. They said they hasd not yet downloaded it on their computer as they had just got it and had quite a backload. I had to go to a shelf to get the book of plats, and it was of course impossible to scan the plat.
