Default How Close To Assembly of God (Oxford) Can I Get with Golf Cart?

I'm stuck with the golf cart to get to the Oxford Assembly of God Church (near the Post Office). I'm thinking I could park in the Walmart parking lot. Is that about as close as I can get?

The businesses around Wal-Mart. There are a few a little closer. Lots of traffic on 301 and CR466 around Sundays.

I have seen golf carts on the road behind WalMart. There is s driving range toward the west end of that road that is frequented by golf carts.

After you exit the tunnel, enter the Walmart parking lot and head to the NW corner by the automotive garage. Looking at Google maps, I would head out the parking lot back exit toward the driving range but go to the left and park at Goodwill. From there you'll have to walk.

Directly behind Goodwill are the RR tracks and a self storage lot, which is probably fenced. North of self storage are streets that deadend at the RR tracks. I would stay east of the RR tracks and walk along the road on the west side of the driving range and look for one of those streets and cross the RR tracks and follow the street to 301. The street directly east of the church is NE 120th Road.

Maybe you could call someone at the church and they could pick you up at the Walmart parking lot, just a suggestion.

You may want to call Villages Taxi 352-259-0121 and have a mini-van pick you up.
I don't know where you live, but from my house, it's only $6 to Oxford.
That might be a better alternative than trying to cross busy roads on a Sunday.

The road that goes behind Walmart, in front of the driving range and passes the north side of goodwill turns north before the railroad tracks. It goes north about 1/4 mile the turns east across the railroad tracks and on to 301 between the post office and the Nursery.
I use this route sometimes in car if traffic on 466 is heavy or backed up from train to get north on 301.

Maybe you could park in Walmart or goodwill parking lot and church friend pick you up?
I too wouldn't want to try's get across 301 on foot unless you are track star.

I agree with above, see if one of your fellow parishioners can meet you at Walmart, and give you a lift. From Google maps it does not appear there is any safe or legal way to get to that church. I would also be very concerned about trying to walk to the church, as you need to cross the tracks (I have clocked trains at 55 mph), and then get across 4 lanes of 301 (I have clocked trucks at 65+, and some cars faster then that!) Also, the only pedestrian crossings appear to be at 466, so going along 105 while much closer is going to much more dangerous.
Hope you find a ride and please be careful.

If unable to get these, you might visit New Covenant(near Crispers)). They are golf cart accessible.

Wrong direction. But excellent effort. I'm proud of your very nice invitation. Way to go!

By the way, Live Oaks Community Church will be breaking ground just north of Walmarts. Although technically in Oxford our church will be golf cart accessible thanks to a 10 year old agreement with TV. We expect groundbreaking to take place in early 2016.

Actually I ended up getting a car ride after all. I'm glad because it does look a bit difficult for cart access, including an apparently rather difficult walk at the end.

And thanks for all the information and invitations, but I'm not actually looking for another church. I'm just helping the Special Olympics basketball team which practices there.

Glad you found your way.

OK PB. We tried, no harm, no foul. God bless you for your work with the Special Olympics team.
