Thoughts on the quality of the flooring and what can new home owners do about poor quality with flooring.

I never liked rolled flooring, had it in 2 previous houses (not in TV) and had to replace in both.

Well the sheet vinyl is generally very soft and easy to cut by dropping something on it. Also furniture leaves permanent impressions in it. Fortunately you can lay a nice Luxury vinyl plank right over the top of it. I would leave it like it is for now and when it gets ugly then get some estimates

I’ve bought 5 new homes here , the first things I do before moving in ,is put new tile or wood through whole home , replace fans, put at least 3 solar tubes , plantation shutters and sliders and paint

Even after paying these inflated prices. Strange times indeed.

I haven't owned 5 homes in my lifetime....
I think its been covered, I would wait until the warranty period is over and replace it with whatever you want. If you are going the LVF route, you could go right over the top as mentioned. Although this is our first TV home, we did replace the ceiling fans, cheaper to replace than to pay for the light fixtures that only fit those fans. Plus we liked the other ones better anyway... Thought about the Solar Tubes but we get enough light in our house as it is. I might put one in an interior bathroom. We'll get to painting once we are outside the warranty period. |

We love our rolled vinyl. Been in almost a year and it still looks perfect.
Carpet in bedrooms and living room. We would be down like 3 phones and a laptop if we had tile. I hate the look of plantation shutters too, so I guess im an anomaly. |

I finished out my attic room here in my Nashville home and my contractor recommended rolled vinyl. I was a bit worried because I never liked the look of it years ago but I have to say I love the flooring he chose for me, rolled vinyl has come a long way from what it was years ago, mine looks like very high quality LVP and the bonus is that it has no seams so it is 100% waterproof which is a plus for homes with pets.

I don't know the brand but in our bathroom we installed vinyl tile, installs with grout just like regular tile, looks like stone and is "warmer" to walk on.

We have rolled vinyl (distressed textured wood plank) in the entry, utility, kitchen and 3 baths. Love it. 3 1/2 years and still looks new. Actually thinking of replacing dining and living room carpet with the same vinyl.
