Default How do you do Amazon returns?

I know it's probably a dumb question. Especially since I loath returning things, and have never done an Amazon return. However my wife does it often. Here, we just drive a mile or two to Whole Foods, and wait in line, scan - scan - attach sticker, it's done. Looks like no Whole Foods in TV, and a long drive to Altamonte Springs.

UPS store is usually set up for all Amaz returns, print label and drop off or walk in and they scan it back in immediately showing returned.

UPS will also pick up your returns right from your doorstep if you so choose.

When you start the return on the amazon website it tells you all your options.

All of the previous commenters are giving sage advice. I am surprised no one has mentioned there IS a Whole Foods store in The Villages. It is located in Buffalo Crossing Shopping Center.

No offense to the posts you've seen, but they're not all accurate.

Different items from Amazon, get different return processes.

You have to go to your account, select the item & click the "return" button. Follow the instructions exactly. If it gives you the option to see more choices and you don't like the ones you see, click the 'more options" box.

Some items can be returned with a QR Code to Staples or Kohls, with no packaging ... some can't.

Some items have to be returned via UPS ... some will require packaging or a fee for pickup.

In some situations, you can only return to a UPS Store (if you want to do it free), other can be dropped off at any store that accepts UPS parcels.

It will depend on the item, the size and the reason you select for your "return".

If the item was not shipped by Amazon, another whole process applies.

It's not complicated, but you have to pay attention to the process and make sure you're getting the "best deal" and that you select the best reason for wanting to return the item.

I log onto our Amazon account, go to orders, select the item to be returned, select return, and the return barcode gets emailed to me. I then take the item and drive the golf cart to the UPS store next to the Publix at Spanish Planes. At the store, I give them the item to be returned and hand them my phone with the barcode Amazon emailed me so they can scan it, and they take care of the rest. Easy peasy.

There's a UPS Store in the shopping plaza across from Dunkin at the intersection of Warm Springs and U.S. 301, another near the Winn-Dixie in Pinellas. Select that as the drop-off point, get the 2-D barcode and you're done—no need to go anywhere else.

If you choose UPS store, I find it a pain to have to print a label (I don't have and don't want a printer) and wait in what is usually a long line.
Kohls is often a long line but they give you 10 to 15% off some items from their store.
My fave has been Staples. Quick process and they also give out coupons for their store.

You definitely have to check return and see what the options are before you drop it at Staples. BUT if it says Staples, go there, I had to return something there last week, you walk in, the Amazon return is right on the left when you walk through the door, I was in and out in 5 mins and there was a line. The guy taking things back was awesome….quick and easy. I put the item in a regular bag, had the return code on my phone, he scanned my phone, printed the label took the bag put it in another bag, and said “thank you, and NEXT’. No wrapping on my part, very easy.

UPS store in Pinellas Plaza. You don't say in what village you will be living, but all UPS stores or Kohl's does Amazon returns. NO more printing of labels, now a QR code sent to your phone that you show to the UPS store and then they print the label. Easy Peasy

I go to Amazon account and enter my return. I don't like the Kohl's option. I think UPS is a faster in and out. I choose that when I make my selection. A QR code will display on the Amazon screen. I take a picture of the QR code with my phone (since I no longer use a printer) and show the picture to UPS. They aim the wand right at my picture and take my item. By the time I get home, I'll see transaction information on the charge card I used. I usually get my refund a day later. I shop Amazon 2-3 times a week and have a return monthly or every other month.
