I’ve been here for 5 days and there has been clouds and rain all 5 days. This is Definitely the tropics. Not much to do in the rain, October looks drier. Most people are staying inside, not much traffic. No wait at restaurants, bars are limited. Bring your own 🧻

Sorry for the layoff - sounds like you are looking for silver-lining. So come on down! Renting in TV is smart. We started out renting, and think it's a great way to figure out if TV is for you, or to get small tastes of the lifestyle while still working. As for managing the pandemic, do what you think is best for you and please make the best contribution you can to stopping the spread, wherever you are. Re: the month of July ... we are snowbirds ... so it's summers in TN. But we take a short (2-3 weeks) summer vacation at our home in TV. Sure, it's hot. We do our sports and exercise early or late in the day and take a couple showers a day. It's a wonderful "vacation".

I don't think anyone would have a problem with you coming for a month what so ever. But, why July!? It is one of the hottest months here. My wife and I usually go somewhere else, mainly Europe or up north for that month or August just to get away from the miserable heat.

Come on down, unless you are going to buck the cdc recommendstions about social distancing and wearing masks. We already have enough of those here!

You come down whenever you feel like it. True it’s very hot and if you can tolerate that then fine. Don’t let anyone’s opinion on this Covid to discourage you. If they don’t want to be near you so be it.

We have a place in Ohio and TV. Been back and forth twice since the shutdown. My husband 3 times. It’s not a problem at all for you to come down.

If you like temps in the mid 90's and high humidity the Villages is the place for you. Also, the Villages is a place that is very politically charged. Maybe you will enjoy it but it depends on where you are with what is going on in this country.

Live your life. You don't need anyone's permission to go wherever you wish. It's still a relatively free country for now.

Long term renters always welcome. Short term AIRBNB renters stay away.

The more I read many of these threads it makes me wonder why many of the posters moved here full time . . If you hate the heat so bad that you can’t function outside why live here . I’ve been living in Florida fo 20 years , doing the same walking and biking in afternoon after gym all year round . Unless I have company , my AC stays at 80 and I shut it off when I go to bed and open slider and maybe on very cold days I’ll read n heater for a little but I’ve never ever had it on when I go to bed and I doubt many of you had it on at night when you went to bed when you lived up north acclimate yourselves you’ll enjoy fl more and no I’m not one of those guys showing off in winter with his knees turning blue I wear what I need to stay warm outside and inside
