Default Mobile home tax

Why are the property taxes so high on the Historic side? Should'nt it be a lot tax and a license plate fee only? They are mobile homes? They should not be considered permanent. This is the only place I have seen this.

Indiana taxes mobile homes and motor homes same as a house.

My home is on the historic side in Silver Lake and there is nothing mobile about it - house sits on a foundation with crawl space and tie downs underneath. When these houses are advertised they are referred to as manufactured homes. They "snap together" like legos and all utilities are tied in from primary lines in the development. Mighta come in on wheels - but they're not there now!

Default Manufactured Homes

You own the land. The land is taxed.
