Default How easy to rent unfurnished?

I don't know if this is the correct forum to post this question, but here goes...

I recently spoke with the TV Property Management service when I was there for a Lifestyle Preview Visit. I asked them how easy it would be to rent a home unfurnished. They didn't break it down by home types (patio villas, CYV, etc) but they said that approx 90% of the unfurnished homes that they manage are currently rented.

That sounded high to me, so I thought I'd check in with the "experts" at TOTV.

Those of you who own and rent out unfurnished homes....especially CYV's....how easy is it for you to rent them?

We bought our 1st Villages home in 2003 and still had to work for 2 years in NY. We put the home in The Villages unfurnished rental program, not expecting much. It ended up being rented for 20 out of the 24 months. ( once for 8 mths, once for 6, and a few month by month) At that time they didn't have many unfurnished homes in the program, so we did great. At the time, the homes were placed on a rotational list. When a person needed an unfurnished home, whoever was next on the list got it. Our was a ranch home. I would think their estimate is pretty accurate because they know how many homes are now in the progam and what the demand is. Many people need an unfurnished while their new home is being built Good luck.

I decided to rent my "new built" home unfurnished, long term and listed it with JD & V Property Management in May. I was told it took a few days for the photographer to take pictures for their website as he wanted a pretty day. In the meantime, my agent called people she knew that were looking for unfurnished homes. I think my home was only on their website for two days before it was rented.

So far, I have had a very good experience with JD & V. They have been responsive to all of my calls and questions!

Talked to my property manager yesterday from JD & V Property Management and he told me unfurnished long term rental requests were requested quite often and he could rent them quite easily. He indicated people wanted to bring their own furniture and live the lifestyle before buying. I agree JD & V are also doing a nice job for us.
