Sometimes the recommendations were made due to shortages so the first responders could get their proper PPE first and some due to lack of knowledge at the time. If science didn't "learn as it went along" we'd be stuck in the dark ages. Yes, it is confusing and often aggravating, but if learning didn't continue folks would still be drinking bleach and gargling mouthwash and dancing around a fire pit swinging garlic on a rope to end this.
Tis a shame you didn't learn that no one ever suggested "drinking bleach"...

And no, cloth masks are not "always deemed bad" and were most certainly recommended by the "experts"...

Fauci first told us that we didn't need masks (that was to ensure that peons didn't clean out the supply needed for medical staff's PPE). Then, he said that cloth masks were adequate. He wore his cloth "Washington Nationals" mask (and still does to this day) quite often...

Now, they tell us that cloth masks are useless (something many of us knew 2 years ago)...

So, lying to us about masks in the beginning was good.

So, to sum up, Yes, we've learned things. BUT... We've also been lied to, multiple times...

And you wonder why there is so much distrust...

Absolutely. This forum is great for things like installing pools, restaurants, solar tubes, etc - things actually related to the Villages, the homes, living here.

These threads get hundreds of comments, keeping TOTV interactive and good for advertisers.

Ahh yes, big shame on me. Sorry, noone said "drinking bleach" I will correct that (that would be dangerous, please don't try that at home) it was just "injecting disinfectant." Somewhat safer I guess but bleach does reside in the disinfectant category. I won't start with the masks again because it is destined to turn political which is a no-no here. Let's stick with God. More believable.

The tragedy of all this back and forth of different opinions, lies, conspiracy theories, information overload etc. is that if a seriously bad variant came along, and things really needed to be battened down, a large part of the population would completely ignore all advice?

Remember the story of the boy who cried wolf to often?

There are many things categorized as "disinfectants". Are you suggesting that all of them were recommended to be injected? No? Then why bleach?

If you actually paid attention to the press conference, it was obvious to anyone that he was talking about "UV Light therapy", "Inhalation therapy" and "Hydrogen Peroxide" use...

But you be you...

They’re not allowed if you use a politician’s name. Say what you want but don’t say name. You will be banned!

I just continuing to play it safe...wife is still going through active cancer treatments, so we're not 'out and about' as much as we had been

IMHO all this news is just hype by the media...CDC keeps changing it's mind...it'll be back page news once the campaign trail ramps up

Hmmm, my "cloth mask" protected me from the diabolical COVID for two years. That is all I have been wearing, IF I was in a location requiring a mask. SO, that means that the cloth mask is magic and will protect, right? Actually, the only time I wore a mask was in places that enforced mask wearing and in medical facilities that mandated mask wearing. I do know many folks that have had covid and they told me that they wore masks everywhere. I did not ask them if they had chosen paper over cloth.
I would choose a emoji that showed that I am being facetious, but our choices are limited.....
I am shocked to find out that we have been lied to..... Say it isn't so....

Any reference to politics, government policies, racism, illegal immigrants, Nazis, name or no name, aside or direct, facetious or not, will incur a fraction and possible posting restriction.

Now you're just trolling me. Good one though. Please advise which ones you understood to be in the "disinfectant classification" that were approved to inject. Some people will definitely be some people! (Yes, avoiding direct name dropping). And those UV tubes ... OUCH! Gotta grease 'em up good first.

UV Light is a type of intravenous therapy which is designed to introduce the energy of light directly into a person’s circulatory system. Individuals who are suffering from Lyme disease are most often recommended with this therapy as it supports red blood cell-oxygenation and promotes a healthy immune system.

One of the reasons leaving California is the hysteria there. The retirement community's administration building just closed their only office for people to go in to solve issues or get ID cards, etc. even though everyone wears masks there. Imagine if TV closed their offices again due to covid

Obviously you didn't notice the 6 but thanks for the explanation.

Vaccinated people with normal immune systems are not being hospitalized with this latest variant. Actually, those same people were not being hospitalized with any of the variants. It is a much safer bet to be vaccinated to survive what ever is going to come our way with this damn virus that keeps mutating.

I will not wear a mask to protect those who will not protect themselves. I'm lucky to be fully vaccinated and boosted so I do not worry one bit about this virus. I only wear a mask indoors in health care facilities because they require everyone to wear a mask.

Anyone who can not get the vaccine for medical reasons, wear an N95 mask when out in public. Anyone who refuses to be vaccinated can wear an N95 mask when out in public. Don't expect me to protect you.
