Mainly Southeastern Florida, though the article hints at Central Florida if current weather trends continue. My bill went up about $200 due to a increase in the coverage because building materials are up over 40% since the covid started.

In my humble opinion, the secondary homeowners property fiasco occurring
in SE Florida doesn't apply to area surrounding The Villages. A majority
of homeowners in SE Florida are unable to purchase "regular" homeowners insurance
and are obligated to purchase their insurance through the State Of Florida which in
MY OPINION is the worst and most expensive insurance anyone can purchase. Also most
residents in SE Florida are in close proximity to the ocean and the amount of insurance fraud
in SE Florida is unbelievable. Lastly, many of the homes are also old and not originally built
to current hurricane standards.

So for the typical resident of The Villages that is bitchin about paying 1000 a year for full coverage,
a similar residence in SE Florida would cost quadruple (4X) to insure.
