Default Loonies & Toonies Club for Canadians

APRIL MEETING AND FAREWELL PARTY
April 11, 2012 6:30 pm
La Hacienda Rec Center - Carmen Miranda Room

We now have around 500 members, which is absolutely incredible for a new Club!

April 11 will be our final meeting of the 2011-2012 season. We have a special event planned for you. Bob Slack [president] and Wallace Weylie [legal counsel] of the Canadian Snowbird Association will be our honoured guests for the evening. Bob and Wallace will be giving us an update on the work that the CSA has been doing on the retiree VISA in Washington, that would allow all of us up to an extra 60 days a year in the United States.

Bob will also be talking to us once again about the merits of being a member of the Canadian Snowbird Association. This very worthwhile organization now boasts more than 90,000 members, and actively campaigns for us in the US. If you wish to join, please bring your Canadian credit card with you to the Loonies meeting. Many who wanted to join in November were unable to do so when Bob and Wallace were last here, because they didn't have a Canadian credit card with them.

The Registration Desk will open at 5:30 PM for those of you have not yet signed up for 2012. BYOB and a snack, if you wish. We will also have on hand our favourite entertainer "Just Mike", who will have us up dancing until closing time as he usually does.

We also ask that you bring a non-perishable food item for the Wildwood Food Bank. We know many of you will be leaving shortly and rather than dispose of canned goods or letting them sit for six months, why not donate them to a worthwhile cause?

For those Canadians who are heading north prior to our April meeting, we wish you a safe journey! We'll see you in the Fall. We look forward to seeing the rest of you on April 11.

If you have any questions, please post them here, or PM me!
