Seen at Havana, yesterday.
Florida Statutes §320.01(22) defines a golf cart as: “a motor vehicle that is designed and manufactured for operation on a golf course for sporting or recreational purposes and that is not capable of exceeding speeds of 20 miles per hour.” How can anyone possibly argue, this vehicle is "manufactured ... for sporting or recreational purposes"? It was designed and manufactured to move people. When was the last time you saw a vehicle like this, operating on a golf course, outside The Villages? (Just anecdotally, but since I've been back TV on October 3rd, I've encountered 97 "4 passenger carts" while driving around (yes, I've been counting). On 4 of the 97, there have been more than (2) people in the cart.) |

Quote:
"Golf" cart is not a misnomer. It's the law in Florida. If it's not a "golf cart", you can't drive it on a public road. There aren't many places you can get to in TV, without driving on or across a public road. |

Some carts have never been on a golf course, but are still called golf carts!

and just about everyone in TV would call it a golf cart. As far as wives and husbands, I imagine sometimes it’s a true assessment!

Seems to fit the overall definition of recreational purposes quite well. |
