Why is it that Morse and Meggison are so much lower than Hy 44 at the intersections?

Default Why is it that Morse and Meggison are so much lower than Hy 44 at the intersections?

Is it purposely done to slow traffic or bad engineering?

No clue as to what you are asking. Lower intersections?

If going at normal speed cars will bounce crossing 44 especially heading north. Always wondered why they have not fixed this

They tried to get by on the cheap and didn't level the intersection properly. Now it will be very expensive to make it right, if they ever do. There were a lot of problems at Powell/Signature Rd and 44. They finally fixed that, but it should have been constructed properly the first time.

We live in Osceola Hills and we often drive across 44 on Morse road. The fact that it is uneven has never been a problem for us. There is no need to change it.

Perhaps you are not experiencing a problem because you are traveling at the speed limit

I've never had a problem there, but then, I'm pretty sure I've never made that light.

They might try putting a right turn lane at the NW corner of Morse where it meets 44 so traffic going south bound on Morse doesn't get so backed up. There is plenty of room there for a right turn lane.

They're to busy building miles of sidewalk along 44 that will never be used.

The idea that it is not a "problem" does not dismiss the fact that the surfacing at this intersection is poorly engineered. There is no valid reason for an intersection to have lanes of varying surface depths. That intersection looks like it was designed and constructed by a 3rd grader.

By "no valid reason" are you saying that when 44 was designed and constructed they should have known that the Villages would build south and add four major intersections? Perhaps the "poorly engineered" intersections were engineered very well for the traffic they were intended to carry.

I don't recall the last time I went straight across 44 at any of those intersections but it doesn't appear that the slight rise towards the center of 44 would be any problem at the posted speeds of 35mph or less.

Note: If this comment and the original post were about a slight difference in the level of the roadways at the point where they meet (a small bump) then that certainly could be due to the multi-year resurfacing project for 44 from 301 to the county line.

Why insult a third grader? My 9 year old grandson is in 3rd and could have done a better job as soon as he learned how to use a level.
