Default How to make tee times in advance to stay

I rented a house in The Villages for a week in the beginning of January. I am coming down with a couple of other guys and are planning on playing 36 holes a day.

Without having a guest pass or a resident pass until I get there, how do I go about booking tee times in advance?

With a resident card you can make tee times six days in advance but you don’t have one. I suggest you call the courses you want to play and see if they can help you or offer guidance.

You might be able to call a country club, talk to a pro and get one tee time. You certainly won’t be able to fill out your full week.

January is different than December, but I looked, there are plenty of tee times for a foursome open tomorrow.

Plus, be prepared for your guests to pay close to $180 per day to play 36 when high season rates take effect January 1st.

They could probably play Orange Blossom, all day every day. Of course, they'd need therapy after a week of that.

There's actually only one way to do what the poster wants, that I know of.

1. Make a list of the Pro Shop phone numbers for every Championship Golf course.

2. Starting 3 days before your scheduled arrival, call Pro Shops until you find a morning & afternoon (2nd Wave) tee time. Early mornings will be fairly easy, 2nd Wave ... not so easy.

3. Every morning, start making your calls for the upcoming day or days.

Whether you have an ID or Guest Pass isn't going make much difference when you book the Tee Time.

Championship courses are all open to the public and staff will sort out ID's, Guest Passes, etc. when you check in and pay. If you're paying the Public Rate after January 1st, you'll be looking at about $100/round depending on status.

Yes you can BUT…. Are you getting guest passes or resident ID!

IF who you are renting from so chooses at your request, they can apply for passes 30 days in advance..Pick them up, take to the home you are renting. Snapshot pic of passes and you can make tee times at the appropriate days out, prior to arrival.
Since this is a inconvenience for them, and a Bonus for you, I would LTK you would greatly appreciate the jester and give them a very nice gift card for their time.
Otherwise no tee time until you have passes in hand. Then the day you arrive you would have to call courses for that day. Probably the next two days will be hard to acquire tee time you are happy with, fourth day and after a better shot.

As i posted a really nice Gift card for all their troubles would be worth it.

If you know anyone that is on the computer tee time system they can put in as a guest request 6 days out and you will know 3 days out if you got a tee time or not. If you get a tee time in the morning wave you will not get a tee time in the afternoon wave via the system ahead of time. To get a two tee times to play 36 holes in the same day once you get a morning tee time then the day of play phone around to courses and you can get an afternoon tee time if available.

The only other way is to get on the phone around 7:15 AM the day of playing and call each championship course until you are able to make your tee times AM and PM. Be ready to go when you call because the early tee times are the most likely to be available. I would suggest that when you arrive here go to the pro-shop at a championship course and tell them what you would like to do and they will confirm if what I suggest still works. I have done this in the past but it was many years ago.

I had a friend come down last March who wanted to play 36 one day during the visit. I was able to use the online tee time system to book us for a morning round at Palmer at around 9:00 and then an afternoon round at Tierra Del Sol at about 2:30. Perhaps the system allowed it because Tierra is not on the wave, but instead has straight tee times, and the tee times were more than 5 hours apart? This was after we spun the clocks forward an hour, so there was plenty of daylight to get in 36 holes with lunch in between rounds.

The days are too short to play 2 rounds per day. 27 hole per day is a better expectation.

Call Nancy Lopez golf shop and talk to Steve. Tell him your situation and you are coming for a visit. Much like the Lifestyle Preview plan they will do as much as possible to make you happy. Good luck

Plan on playing outside The Villages. There are several online Tee Time web sites. I use GolfNow.com.
