Default Need recommendations for replacing outdoor 36"x24" grill range hood

I have a 2004 Designer home with an outdoor summer kitchen on the lanai. The wall-mounted, stainless steel grill range hood (Broan Best model K260D36) is 36"W x 24" D and the control switches are not working well. Replacement parts for this 20-year old range hood are sparse, and very expensive. So, I am starting to research potential replacement alternatives and contractors.

Can anyone provide details on replacing their lanai range hood (products and contractors)? Thank you.

T&D Construction, Lowe’s and possibly Home Depot.

Pretty much any design / build kitchen contractor would be able to source and install one for you.

If these are rocker switches, they tend to have a standard size hole and replacements are available for various sources. First turn off the circuit breaker to the hood, then locate the service panel, remove the access screws, and you should see the switches. These will have the ratings and possibly a model number, replacements are usually around $5 each. If the hood is OK, this is a much less expensive option.
Send me a PM if you would like to discuss further over the phone.

I agree. I am looking for someone who has actually had experience with specific products and contractors. Have you used T&D Construction for grill vent installation?

Thanks villagetinker, you always have constructive, and valuable, comments.

In this case, the vent control panel is actually a complete circuit board, with multiple slide switches, and a rheostat to vary the vent fan speed. The control panel is fastened with screws somewhere up, and inside the unit. This would be a "blind" screw removal, if the screws are not already rusted into place. Quality replacement parts, from eraplacementparts.com, include the control panel circuit board for $412 and the plastic switch bezel for $145. With a 21-year old unit, the motor will also eventually wear out, so I might as well take the $562 (cost of switch parts) and replace the entire range hood.

In your case I completely agree with your analysis, the others I worked on were 2 speed motors and 'old school' hard wired on/off switches.
