Can anyone tell me - is there a direction that dish and direct tv satelite in your yard must face. When you purchased yours - did your salesman indicate which direction? THanks

Try this site and use your zip code.
http://www.dishpointer.com/ ...and the Post Office use to think those five little digits were only for mail delivery. HA! |

The installer uses a compass. If you don't have a line of sight he will tell you. Due to the southern location, the sattellite position is relatively high in the sky, meaning the dish can be low and still see over your neighbor's house. Mine is mounted a foot off the ground behind my AC. It points right over the next door neighbor's house, no problem.

That's going to depend on the A/C's location. My A/C is on the south side of the house. If it was on a different side it might not have worked.

Be careful when having your dish mounted near your AC compressor. When ours was installed that way, when the installer pounded the post in, he cut into one of the low voltage cables for the thermostat that was buried under ground. Fortunately it was not a high voltage line or the coolant line - that would have been VERY ugly.
