Default Comcast woes

I live on the side of The Villages near the hospital. Anyone else having a problem with their internet? Every day I loose my internet all together for awhile and also it gets really slow at least once a day. Have complained twice and it got faster but back to the cycle again.

That happened to me and when someone came out they found a faulty splitter was causing the problem. Since then it's been working fine.

Isn't it Comcast who is promoting another offering called xfinity ??? I received a xfinity two year discount offering in the mail yesterday and if you search the document long enough you will find the word comcast in small letters in one spot..

I've had Comcast/Xfinity for 8 years now. Live in Belvedere near high school. Never had even one problem. So probably the folks here are right, that it is a physical issue with your set-up and not a general Comcast broadcast problem. Good luck.

I have had a couple of minor issues with Comcast/Xfinity but always taken care of quickly.

I find their customer service very helpful and they are always giving me some discounts.

What is your setup? Are you connected through a router or directly to the modem? Is your connection to the computer wired or wireless? Is there a splitter in the line to get both TV and Internet from the same outlet? It's hard to help without knowing these things.

Buggyone, I'm glad you're having such good response from Comcast. We just moved here and took the option to install ourselves as recommended. My husband hooked everything up but could not get a signal so they sent out technician. They had to add a booster which just plugs into the wall. So I get a bill from them for $236.84. I just paid them 120.61 on 8/27/2013. I'm not having such luck!

We have had Verizon for Cell Phone for about ten years. We always had great reception untill last winter when it became very intermittant. Verizon could find nothing wrong with phone But sold us a "Booster" which greatly improved the signal.

I wonder if the number of people being served in the area has something to do with the signal not being as strong, or have the utilities come up with a new way to get into our pockets. (we are in Spanish Springs)
