Default How many years do you expect to live here?

Listening to some articles on Climate change and ocean level rising, and it is expected to be a couple decades before significant flooding occurs in Florida (probably longer here in central Florida.)

This got me to thinking about how long I expect to live here (the rest of my life).

I am 72, my male ancestors one my fathers side typically made it to 80 to 85.

I expect I will make it to 85 if I don't get killed by an errant golf ball.

I expect I have a 50/50 chance of making it to 90-95 (better health care, food, etc than the men on my fathers side)

And maybe a 10-15% chance of making it to 95-100.

So, I will more than likely be here in TV 10 years, probably make it 20 years, could be here 30 years, but it is not likely.

How about you, do you think about it? Having any expectations?

I'm not worried about climate change, and it has nothing to do with my life expectancy.

Parents stayed 12 years, uncle stayed 32 years and passed here. My aunt had to go to living care. Lack of sidewalks eg. in district 1, and no public transportation etc makes it expensive and hard to age out by yourself in TV. Friends can help out but only to a certain extent.

Since I am 70 and my folks lived into their 90s, I am planning on being in our home 15-20 years. The wild card is when we will not be able to live independently. Sometime in the future, we will have to decide where we move for some kind of assisted care. While I am a planner, there are too many unanswered variables to make any concrete decisions at this point.

Nowadays, just day by day. I never really gave it any thought. Great post.

I would love to be here for another 15 years.

We Village people need to stick around long enough to see TV grow
to the city limits of Tampa or Orlando.

I've planned my pension plan for me living until 90. So I hope to live here 35 years. 2 down, 33 to go!

Don't worry. Your heirs can cancel your membership and get a refund.

Do yourself a favor and stop listening to those articles. In my lifetime those "experts" had North America freezing as if we were a polar cap and then changed to they prediction of parts of the US to be permanently under water. The only "experts" that are more wrong are the televangelist predicting the end of the world.

I'm not refuting that there is climate change, but its a big business now and there is money to be made selling fear and solutions.

It is not stress that kills you but rather stress that you can do nothing about. Where we are today. Climate change. I am amused at the reality. Roughly 35 years ago, the concern was global COOLING. Recently we have had people to turn global warming into a profitable, hysteria for them. So that it cannot possibly be resolved it is now CLIMATE CHANGE. Climate has and always will be changing. Stress over climate change IS killing people. It is something that you cannot do anything about.

Life expectancy, MEDICAL CARE. Few dare to say, dare to see, LIFE is temporary. It always has been.

I used to honestly tell my friend he needs to explain the old jokes to me. I can no longer honestly say that.

I don't buy any green bananas is now a knee slapper.

Stress and killing people. My mom passed away many years ago.
I called here credit card company looking to settle her bill. The FOOL on the other end of the phone told me they could not tell me what she owed and they would need to talk to her. I told them she was six feet under and not able to take any calls.

A prepaid funeral. We know sooner or later we will be using it.
