I have only been to the beauty school to have it done. They've always done a good job. I give it an extra coat of clear when I get home, and it lasts forever. But it takes a lot of time because they have to wait for an instructor to okay everything.

Hubby and I went to MX a few years ago and as part of our week at the timeshare there, we had a large spa credit. I talked him into doing a pedicure with me. He rolled his eyes and finally agreed. About halfway through he looked over at me with his eyes half closed in a post orgasmic glow and said, "I understand now, it's not about the color is it?"

Now he gets one about every 6 months. It is really is something to be experienced to understand. Most guys who get one don't stop at one.......

In Nov I went to Dimensions in Colony
THE guy took 90 min to blow dry my hair while in Atl the girl i go to takes 30 min max
While at Dimensions, I asked for price for a pedi
They quoted 47.00
Then right there i made a comment on how pricey that was
and then the lady said:
"oh, wait right now we have a special on pedis for... ( 25 or 27.00 can't remember)
But the moral is:
Speak up, at least in Dimensions....

( hubby thinks it's great fun to get a pedicure because up north men don't get pedicures!!) so we each sat down for our relaxing hour of pampering. The pedicure was good except they didn't have any "toe separators" or dryers for the polish which is weird since they give manicures and pedicures. They talked my husband into buying this foot foam to help heal cracked heels (which I never would do). When we checked out they said the cost of 2 pedicures and the foam stuff was $119.00. I almost fell over. I asked them if they could break down the receipt so I could see what each costs. They said the pedicures were 47.00 each and the foam was 24.00. I swallowed hard and said thank you and walked out. How can they charge so much??? Granted it was my fault for not asking in advance how much the pedicures were but gosh. I felt taken advantage of. Any pedicure I've ever gotten was between 25.00 and 30.00. They will never get me again!!
They get that much because people are willing to pay it. If they weren't, they would be out of business. They can do ten pedicures at $47.00 and make the same amount of money as doing 19 at $25.00. Why would they want to do more work for the same amount of money? (Would you work for half of your salary?) Unless, of course, if people stopped going there. At that point, they might consider lowering their prices.

Default pedicures

I go to Nails & Beyond on Wedgewood Dr ( next to Bonefish). Theirs are $25-$35 depending on which you want.

As far as eyebrow wax, I go to Wax Me in the Lange building on SR#101.
Laurinda is the tech and she does them for $6 with all the sounds of water and relaxation tapes. She is great.
