Default How to request to be someone's friend

I have been to the faqs page trying to figure out how to request a friend. The explanations there are not working for me. First of all, I can't tell, do I do this from my own page, or from the profile page of the person I'm asking to be my friend? And I can't find the "request friend" button anywhere.

Could someone please explain to me how to request a friend? And could you start with me getting dressed in the morning and tying my shoes?

Go to the person's page that you want to be friends with. View private profile. Look at their friends, if any. A very small green line will appear above their existing friends. This line has a " befriend" link.
Hit that link and a friend request will be sent.

Easy peasy. When you see someone you think you want to friend, just click on their name to go to their profile. On the right hand side of their profile, you'll see a button "befriend .........". Just push the button. You can unfriend people the same way.

I give up. I cannot find that button. So I went to "add this person as a contact," and it said they are already my friends.

To those two who requested to be my friend, I tried to request to be your friend back! Hopefully it worked... I am not usually so computer illiterate.

Not difficult.....I just went to your page and befriended you. Just go to the page of the person you want to befriend. When you see their list of friends, some have pictures, the narrow green bar is at the bottom left of the area where friends' pictures are.

Their Friends box, the one with the pictures, must be expanded so you can see the green bar. Make sure that box is opened....little arrow(s) at the top right of the friends area.

Getting you dressed and tying shoes is definitely out. Maybe we couls do a spin off on the Village Idiots club and have a rule that allows going out before noon in bed clothes as ok. By then I can bend over.

I know one thing. I was right when I asked to be your friend. First of all you have a sense of humor and second of all you have a sense of humor and the rest of the list is you are just plain a nice person.
