here in VA we are under state of emergency. My mom is supposed to come down by bus from Mt. Laurel NJ on Tuesday so we can fly from DC to Orlando on Wed for a few days of R&R in TV. Sandy better not get in the way.

I am currently in Ft. Lauderdale, where Sandy came a LOT closer than in The Villages. All we had was rain, some wind, and a short power outage. Looks like NJ/NY is going to have it a LOT worse than Florida did.

Sara,
Hopefully the worst will be over by Tuesday so that you and your mom can enjoy your time together in TV! Fingers crossed!

Default Sandy

Stuck in Jersey. 8 am flight cancelled. Hope to get out on Wednesday. Everything is closed including the A.C. Casinos. Worse yet to come - about noon today. Lights just flickered but OK for now.

In our location at PPB we were under mandatory evacuation. We left yesterday at 1 PM and have been watching the Weather Channel which is broadcasting right up the street from our home. We realized that if we lost power and flooded, our generator would be of no use in having the sump pumps keep up with the flooding waters. Next high tide will be the one to watch.

It's hard to think about what we might be coming home to, but we will deal with whatever we have to, if we have to!

Thank you to all for your prayers and thoughts! Be safe!

Rona

Good luck. Hope Sandy goes on by with as little damage as possible.

I am on the Jersey Shore, hoping to get down to the Villages to close on our house later this week. We are not in an evacuation zone, yet the wind is howling and very strong with the height of the storm almost 12 hours away. The lights keep flickering and we lost power for a few minutes, but thankfully it was restored. . To think that I was a little concerned about the possibility of hurricanes when we moved to Florida!

My prayers are with you. Good luck in weathering the storm from where you're located. As for closing on your TV house, I heard that flights in the Philly area are cancelling through Tuesday, and some airlines into Wednesday.

Laura, Rona and all others in the path of Sandy. My prayers are with all of you and I certainly hope for the best outcome for each and every one of you. The most important thing is to be safe. I hope you all will not find too much devastation in your areas. Rona, I know you are in Point Pleasant where the storm is predicted to come ashore. However on the most recent news, they say it will be at 5 PM instead of high tide, so a tad bit of good news. Even here in Chicago, our waves on Lake Michigan will pound ashore and over Sheridan Road and Lake Shore Drive. Winds will be 40 here, so I can only imagine what so many of you will experience. Best of luck to you all and you are definitely in the thoughts of all those on TOTV.
