So far I have been able to find what I needed, though obviously not in the same place. The current organization seems to make sense, it just isn’t the same.

I wish I didn’t have to learn something new. Others may be happy they no longer have to struggle through that old layout.

Several years ago, after Microsoft came out with the latest update which was almost a completely new product and thereby requiring us to learn it all over again, I read a comment by an automotive engineer. He said that he would like to design a new car (just for software engineers) in which everything was totally different - gas pedal on the left, brake on the right, turn signal near the radio, etc., etc. It might teach them to make the updates but keep the basics.

At least they haven't changed the keys on the keyboard - yet!

Dam, I never knew the information was available online and never had a reason to look for it. When we purchased our Villages home, we signed up for automatic payment from our bank account and we get an itemized copy of the invoice in the mail every month which I use to record the payment in our check book register and then file for our records.

Absolutely agree!

most times, but the change needs to be more intuitive to more people to be easier to use. Having designed a few small pieces of software, what is intuitive = easier to learn for the most amount of people, is the key. . . not about ability to learn

I spent alot of time more than once on distribution to a large audience with instructional steps using software. Every time I thought i had a bullet proof, everyone can understand it, it's simple, someone would ask an interpretation question I never perceived was possible in the development.

too much change is chaotic, or change when form does not follow function is not productive. There will always be people who can't adapt as well as others.

The new design of district.gov is awful. There's way too much white space, the font is too large, and there's a bunch of useless pictures, the end result being hardly any useful information on each screen.

wait, useless pictures?
aren't all TV websites first and foremost an advertisement?

Shocked I say, SHOCKED!
most district web site visitors are residents, so a mismatched bias between form and function for the majority of users? who would have thunk it?

or is it just subliminal messaging to keep reminding you about where you live?

gah! I just wanted to find the link to my bills. . .
but wait, I had to find my old bill for the assigned ID number to get e-copies of my p-copies because the web designer didn't want user based ids,
but wait I have an account with a password, and that's not good enough?

WHY DID THEY CHANGE THE WEBSITE?

There is a lot of information on districtgov.org and I was just learning how to use it and where things were.

And then they change everything!!

Considering that most of the people using the website did not grow up with computers or smartphones, I don’t understand why they make us have to learn a new system. Kind of like Microsoft making significant changes every time they come out with a new update!

There’s a good reason why people love Apple over Microsoft. Their software look pretty much stays consistent.

The reason I get frustrated with those folks, is because they use the excuse to justify not knowing how to use a computer. The personal computer has existed since the 1970's. No one living today, no matter how old they are, can justify not knowing how to use a personal computer because they're too old. They've had around 40 years to figure it out.

It's not just change. It's evolution. Progression. They figured out how to set the clock on their microwave oven didn't they? They've learned how to use a keyless entry on their new electric vehicle haven't they? So what's the problem here?

Yes indeed there are people who absolutely detest computers. I have a dear friend who will not have a computer of any type in her home. Her children wanted to buy her an iPad so she could keep up family ties with grandchildren and great grandchildren. She adamantly refused. If she ordered something it was by phone or by mail. I suspect her hatred for computers stemmed from the fact her husband was always on his computer when he was alive. It was a sore point with her for sure. She passed away last year. She was a loving and generous person but computers were a hard no for her and anything Ford made. LOL!

Most people never learned how to program a VCR. Many of them sat on the TV stand for years, flashing "12:00". Being an engineer, I loved mine.

The PIN is also printed on the top of recent statements.

Where is the pin? I don’t see it on my statement.

Very top center of the statement under the words “Account PIN
Note: Older statements would not have the PIN, only those in the last few months.
