Default I have got to stop looking at the Villages temperature

I'll admit it. I'm addicted to looking at the temperature in TV, and then checking out the palm trees swaying in the breeze on the web cam. I prefer the Spanish Spring as you can see vehicles and people walking. I wish there was a bigger size option.

The problem is when I check my weather, 23 degrees, snow and ice on the ground and driveway, etc, I get a little depressed. The sad part is I thought the temp was not too bad this morning. Then I see 63 degrees on the Villages website. I think I may cry.

I feel your pain, 18. As I type, it's 7 degrees outside...

For the last few years I have noticed that we (snowbirds) are the only people with shorts and polos on in January. To me above 55 degrees feels warm compared to what we just left. I consider 60 balmy and 70 can cause heat strokes in January. CAN"T WAIT!!!

Default Counting the days

We are also freezing here in New Hampshire. We expect single digit temps tonight, the lake is starting to freeze and we have about 8" of snow on the ground! But, we are down to 10 days and counting to leaving for the Villages and the beautiful Florida weather. The webcams and TOTV are a lifeline for us right now.

Here's the web site for the webcams which are great to look at when the outside temp here in central Michigan is 11 and it's 61 in TV. We'll be there the last week of January for our second LSP in 6 years.

I drove my hubby crazy last winter looking at the weather in TV and turning on the webcam at 5 pm to see the dancing in the squares. We finally sold though, so no snow for us ever again! I used to be the one coming down here and thinking that 60 degrees was balmy, but we've been here since August now and even I had to put on a jacket today! (But I still had on my shorts and flip flops! It'll take more than one winter to knock out Michigan from my system!)

Default Don't rub it in

After 6 days soaking up vitamin D and getting our place ready to rent for Jan-March, I left TV at 6PM, arrived in Md. this AM to a howling, biting wind.
If the van were not so full, i'd have brought back some weather.

Neat bumper sticker. Went like this: "It's God's job to judge terrorists. Our job is to arrange the meeting!"

There is a redirect on the URL. You need to paste the URL into your web browser then it will work. Also you can go to thevillages.com website and pick on the temperature and it will take you to one of the WebCams.

I know after I acclimate to winter, anything above freezing is not a bad day, and even in the high twenties with sun and no wind is not that bad. I bet coming to TV in January must seem very warm, especially as we had only a handful of days in the 80's all last summer.

Default We're not the only ones who look at TV temps everyday?

Temps around 10 today with strong wind...wind chills around 15 below zero...about a foot of snow on the ground. And winter doesn't officially begin until next week.

We seriously think the house is going on the market this summer...we can't do this anymore.

That LSP last Feb convinced us...it's time to close our eyes and jump into a different lifestyle.
