Default window treatments

We purchased the Lantana model with the 2 large doorwalls leading to the lanai. I would like to do something other than regular verticals. Hasa nyone done anything else to theirs?

We used Window Reflections in Wildwood on Main St. Ask for Roxanne. She did a great job on our Iris sliders to the Lanai.

Default Graber Vertical Blinds

We went with "Graber" Cellular Shades from Lowe's for both the 6' and 12' wide lanai sliding glass doors. They have a smooth contemporary fabric look.
Lowes measured, ordered and installed. Not low cost but they do run frequent sales. We were looking for something different, as well as privacy and better insulating qualities. Photo is from their catalog.

I don't know what the Lantana is like but if you have 6' sliders, I would do a double tab top panel on each side, pulling it back almost off the window so it hangs on the wall, with a valance, mounted on a board on top to hide the rod for each slider. That way you could pull it closed at night for privacy or in sunlight for the heat. Check out Jo-ann Fabric, Solarium brand, you would not need a lining with this fabric, great body and hangs nice. Simple valance, not a cornice board, with inverted pleat on each end and 2 spaced in center, different fabric, matching pillows for the couch. The length of the valance would depend on your ceiling height. Or you could go to Open Houses for other ideas. HTH

We had the same problem. I HATE those cheap plastic verticals. We called Jennifer Gaab from Superior Design Source (561-5611) she out and found there are a quite a few options. There are Coulisse Gliding panels, honey combs, drapes, roller shades, sheers and Ado Complete Wrap. We got an education and decided to go with the Ado Wrap. We love them!! It has so many options, sheer fabric light still comes in with privacy or with one twist, its total privacy and black out. Very happy with the quality.

This is not meant to insult anyone, but window treatments for sliding doors using vertical blinds is an obsolete item, even though companies still offer them.

In the current marketplace, as elenaz mentioned in a separate post, there are many different options to choose from today, which do not look like the decorating choice of yesterday.
