Default What an absolutely beautiful day in the Villages

Love days like today, sure it was a little cool, windy, and cloudy, but that’s what makes it perfect. When else can you go to any sports pool mid morning, when there are usually water classes, which are all canceled, and swim laps in an empty pool. Then in the afternoon at the Championship courses, when after the PM wave you can play unlimited golf until dark for the half price 9 hole rate, but typically can’t get out until after 4:00 when the last group in the afternoon wave makes the turn. Typically, you get stuck behind slow groups, and this time of the year, can barely squeeze in 9 holes before dark. Today, I was able to get out at 2:25 at Cane Gardens and play Allamanda to Hibiscus for the 9 hole rate without seeing another golfer the whole round and I finished at 4:50. That is too good : )
Looks like it’s going to be another cold day tomorrow, so rinse and repeat. We could use more days like today. Also, the golf conditions at the Championship courses are very good, probable the best for January I can remember during the 7 winters we have been here.

Glad somebody likes the cold weather, two years living in Florida makes the cold a bit much for me.

Brrrr….brrrr… if you say so….brrrr. Enjoy.

I went shopping at Homedepot for indoor plants, large ones for the lanai, flowers for the nook and big room. Hubby selected wood for a garage shelving unit he plans to make. I’m arranging the flowers, ikabana style, he is putzing around with the mitre saw. It was a beautiful day for us too.

Way too cold for me today in the Villages. I did get out my Minneapolis coat and added a bunch of layers too. I just wish I had that face mask I had while I was up there.

We plan on writing a book about how we survived this day:

Winter Showed Up On Saturday
Chapter 1: Flip-Flop Anxiety - A Tale of Two Mismatched Socks

6:30 a.m. walking a dog wearing jeans, two long sleeved shirts, a sweatshirt, hat, winter coat with hood up, and mittens. (That would be me, not the dog). Repeat performance at 4:00 p.m. It would not have been so bad except for the wind.
I like the fact that we get a "winter" here, but today was a bit too much winter for me.

Went for my morning run it was 48 and windy. Had my Under Armour top and leggings hat and gloves. Was sweating after the first mile!

I was happy to still get to play pickleball, but my fingers were SO COLD the whole time. On the other hand, one of the guys I played with was down to his t-shirt and sweating!!!! Some people are much more hot blooded than me.

Rode 42 miles on my bike dressed like an Eskimo. Nah, you can have this weather. I don't come down 1525 miles just to be less cold.

Low humidity, cool temp, and high barometric pressure. Density altitude minus 735 feet. Lots of oxygen in every breath.
