All my Dad's brother and sisters were born at home. He had nine of them but one died in childbirth. A plane crashed in their back yard on his birthday. On the day he was born. My brother verified it by looking at Chicago area newspapers.

We could have some Native American blood on my mother's side as that family goes back to around the 1660s in Massachusetts (Stimson) and North Carolina (Trueblood). Probably various opportunities to meet Native Americans.

Your grandparents had no barriers. They simply showed up at the door and were admitted to try to secure a better life for their family. Immigrants today seek the same...a better life for their family. Your ancestors were pretty much freeloaders on the church and the community they lived in until they were able to provide for themselves and their family.

These immigrants, who were rounded up by ICE, were earning money for themselves and their families and paying taxes. Those taxes were paid into the IRS and Social Security so that you could receive your SS benefits. So, lets stop villainizing hard working people who are trying to accomplish the same things as your ancestors did. The only difference is they have brown skin while yours is white and the racist laws that exist legitimize some immigrants while villainizing others.
