Pickleball is hard on the knees (and ears) because the ball bounces low and the court is hard. Up north people play it inside in gyms with wooden floors, which have more "give" so are easier on the knees. As an additional benefit, pickleball is also hard on the elbow due to the quick, awkward motion used to hit the ball.
.......On a positive note - it is easy to quickly get reasonably good at it. And the quick exchanges crank up the adrenaline system, which older players need and may be addictive for them.
.......On a negative note - many injuries.

Thinking about getting my back "fixed", but not sure about the docs around here and the downside of things going wrong is scary.
Shoot pool. Physically easy and still a true sport. Like golf without the green fees and back pain.

Speaking of sounds. The droning click, click, click of Picklesball is very off-putting. I would hate to live near a Picklesball court.

Up close the sound is more of a fairly loud "k-tonk". It's a wonder PB players don't all have headaches.

You just described 90% of golfers, pickleball player’s, softball players, and Tennis players. We ant spring chickens anymore. IMO point is to get some exercise how even able.

Actually noise level pickleball has come down it last 5 years or so due to paddle technology. Most now don’t make the loud pop when hitting the sweet spot.
