Default Ignore List

If you have a particular user(s) that seem to 'rub' you the wrong way, instead of having a public display of it add them to your ignore list. Click usercp and scroll down to edit ignore list.

Best Regards,

I love the ignore feature. It will drop you blood pressure by 20 points once you get the people who are negative from appearing. I can handle a differing opinion, but not personal attacks.

It is a great tool. I don't use it now, but had used it in the past on the political forum.

A good reminder for those who are being assailed when expressing their opinion.

Can't we all agree to disagree respectfully?

Default New feature?

Would be interesting to know how many ignore lists I am on. I would not want to know who finds me ignore-worthy, just how many.

Could analyze over time to do self analysis....

IMHO, a person who puts a poster like (AJ) on an ignore list may well be one who belongs on ignore lists themselves!

Anyway, the ignore list is ok except for a couple of things. For one, you can still tell when an ignored person posts because a note is displayed that they posted a message instead of the post itself, and that can eat at your curiosity. That in and of itself could potentially get as agitating as reading the post itself. Also, you might still see and read their posts if they have been quoted.

In the past I have used the ignore list, but have discontinued doing that for those very reasons. Today, I just try to restrain myself in reacting if possible and instead use the little red triangle. The admin may be tired of hearing from me at times, even though the triangle could be used much more than I actually do use it. But, this is what the Admin has asked us to do in the past!
