Default Recommendations for 18-hole golf outside TV

My husband and I would love to explore 18-hole golf courses outside TV. Any recommendations on good courses we can try... husband says not too tight and in good condition.

Thumbs up

Try Baseline just north of TV. Harbor Hills, The Plantation at Leesburg, El Diablo near Ocala, The Preserve, just to name a few. Also check the Daily Sun for coupons and deals at courses in the area. Have fun. Irish

A little bit of a drive but if you get tired of flat courses drive down to Clermont and play Sanctuary Ridge. You can get some good deals by booking a tee time online. Played recently for 25.00 inc cart and it is a challenging course. http://www.sanctuaryridgegc.com

Cherman - Wow some nice prices. It looks like a 30 mile drive? There's a tee time this afternoon at 1:30 for $13 with cart. If I was in TV right now I'd take a ride with you!

Sanctuary Ridge looks nice, it's an hour from TV. Lake Diamond just south of Ocala, runs a Tuesday special a couple times a month (need coupon from Daily Sun), 2 golfers with a cart for $35. It's about a 30 minute drive.

Try http://www.golfnow.com they a listing of courses around central Florida. Water Oaks has a nice course, and the Lakes of Lady Lakes is inexpensive.

I was pleasantly surprised when I recently played the two courses just outside Spanish Springs on 441; Stonecrest and The Links at Spruce Creek. Both are an average/above average challange, they were in good condition and the advertised specials make their fees $15-25 less than a round at a TV championship course. Miona Lakes, also on the TV boundary however, is poor by comparison to any of the above.

Also, go to golflink.com. If you make TV your centerpoint they show you all the courses, their distance from TV, directions, cost and player reviews. Lots of good information.

I simply LOVE The Preserve on 200 (they also have a special going, $24.00 each for a tee time) and there is a new course called Stone Creek in Ocala. Both are GREAT courses. (They are also Del Webb courses but we won't hold that against them). Actually the Del Webb Eagle's Ridge course right up the street on 441 is a Very nice course. I play a LOT of courses outside of the Villages especially during the winter months (1) because our courses are so crowded and (2) the rates are a lot cheaper because they (the outside courses) are trying to attrach the snowbirds and other villagers like me, to play their courses. Hope this helps.

gowen, 2 good choices, Water Oaks had a coupon on their website for a free round of golf, we played there a month ago and the free round included the cart and the course was in real nice shape. Lady Lake runs a coupon in the Daily Sun, $22 includes cart and lunch which includes any beverage. I think the par there was around 63 which makes it good for people who don't like a real long course....GN

About an hour's drive away in Brooksville is the World Woods complex with two courses that are ranked in the top 100 You Can Play. the Pine Barrens course is outstanding.

Pine Barrons was recommended to me as well. However it is about $135 a pop. Maybe once a year.
