I ask that you take a moment to read the comic Grand Avenue in today's edition of The Villages Daily Sun. Cartoonists Steve Breen and Mike Thompson have written the most succinct yet deeply moving expression of remembrance I have ever seen.

Read the comic, then close your eyes. Mentally transform the drawing to a virtual vision of overlooking the Arlington National Cemetery or of standing in front of the Vietnam Memorial Wall or of being at the Punchbowl on Oahu or in front of any monument to fallen United States military personnel. And then think of all of those lost tomorrows.
