Get out your phone and first photograph how it is wired. Then remove the eye and take it to Lowes or Ace and ask for an exact replacement.

OP, make sure you TURN OFF THE POWER to the lamp post at the circuit breaker panel, before you do anything!

I find it shocking people don't turn off the power before working on electric circuits. (Sorry, bad dad joke).

Wish I had read this thread first. Just paid Galaxy Home Solutions Electric $175 to replace the solar lens (electric eye). I thought the problem was a short in the wiring under the landscaping. Now I can’t get Galaxy to send me a receipt.

Not sure what you are saying. Part of what you pay a pro for is knowledge. You wondered, they diagnosed and repaired the problem. Typical charges run $100 for the tech to arrive then, the repair. Actually if you had other repairs that need to be done, they would not, or should not charge you the $100 to show up.

My neighbor replaced his. He never checked. The eye was fine-the bulb was blown.

Photocells fail to the positive...meaning they let power flow through 24/7. The easy fix is to buy a bulb with a photocell built in and forget messing with the accessory photocell that has failed. Just screw in the new bulb and you're in business. About $6 at big box stores.

Maybe at ACE Hardware. But, at Lowes, I wouldn't count on it.
