Default Bubble Machine

This is for those of you that either have, or know someone who has, one of those bubble machines on the back of your cart:

Today, (not the first time), I drove behind a person who had one of those automatic bubble machines spewing hundreds of bubbles per minute out the back of her cart. I was behind this blasted thing for almost a mile up Bailey Trail until she turned into Miona rec center.

This is NOT playful, or cute, or fun. It IS rude, insensitive and possibly even dangerous. I was trying to leave enough room behind her so that the bubbles did not hit my face but they just kept coming in my open windshield. I finally let someone pass me just to avoid it any further. It took all I had to not turn into Miona and let her have a piece of my mind.

Your stupidity should not hinder my ability to keep have a clear field of vision without distractions while driving in those very skinny diamond lanes with cars going 30-40 mph by me!

I have never seen a cart with bubble machine attached to it. It sounds like it would be cute; however, your point it very well taken. It cannot be pleasant or safe for the cart immediately to the rear. Thanks for pointing this out.

You're right, Russ....and it's probably not something one thinks about when installing the machines. Looks cute to have bubbles spewing out of the back of your cart....not realizing that these soapy orbs are going to either hit the face of the person driving behind you if their windshield is down or splatter on the windshield if it's up, leaving behind a soapy mess.

Sorry you had to deal with this situation, but thank you for reminding us that this little "cute" device impacts others, and not necessarily in a good way.

The question I have for those of you that love them or have one:

How do they help you (enjoyment wise) when you are driving? You can't even see the bubbles coming out of the back of your cart.

Another question:

Do you think these would be allowed on actual automobiles? I'm pretty sure that would be illegal.

No two ways about it. The are rude to the person who drives behind them. Period.

What an idiotic thing to have on a golf car! If the use of a bubble machine on a golf car causes an accident or damage of any sort I wonder if the tortfeasor's insurance would cover their stupid and negligent behavior? If not they might very well lose their shirts in any resulting lawsuit.

I am "Johnny Bubbles" - and have the T shirt.

I have a bubble machine on my cart and 'bubble' Lake Sumter and yes, Bailey Trail all the time. So I'm guessing it was probably me.

I like the bubbles. So does everybody else (well, maybe not the OP and the fellow that was worried that the soap/water solution would harm the paint job on his cat !!!)

I daily - repeat DAILY - have people comment to me that they LOVE THE BUBBLES.

Sorry if the OP and a few others don't care for them.

But hey ... here is a solution ....

BACK OFF about 10 feet and the bubbles will float out of your way ...

You can't please everyone, so ya gotta please yourself.

I've never seen the bubble machine on carts and really have no opinion other than I love bubbles and I think I want one. That being said, I do think that some consideration could be given to those behind you. I really don't want soap bubbles on my windshield -- have enough stuff I have to clean as it is. Either pull over or turn it off when there a few carts behind you and let them get in front of you. Even at 10 feet bubbles are more than likely to hit the windshield.

Now, where do you get the bubble machine and how much is it?

Default I have the bubble machine!

I am probably the person that Dennis was following down the trail the other day a simple beep of his horn and I would have pulled over and turned off the bubbles or he could have followed me and given me a piece of his mind I most likely would have enjoyed it. Just a word about the bubbles and the machine (it and they are green) a little soap and water is not going to hurt anyone. Actually when I am down and out sometimes it feels good to spread a little joy and for me spreading a little joy is spewing a few bubbles. Hope you all have a great day see you around and if I am spewing bubbles - back off - a bubble might hit you and what could be worse? Think about that!
