Default Insurance question: A Scam or Not?

I bought a new home in TV < 5 yrs ago. I got my insurance thru The Villages company and they last year were telling me I needed an inspection.....before I could get there, as I was up north. I was forced to get a new carrier thru the employee at TV and then later found out that the original insurance company knew nothing about what had happened. Now I am receiving calls and a letter from a company called The Baldwin Group located at 3400 Southern Trace in TV wanting Trust Info. I don't know this company and am surprised at their having some of my personal info. Have any of you had this experience? I have not contacted my insurance company yet as I thought I'd get my ducks all in a row before maybe raising my shotgun. Any info, ideas, suggestions or sharing of what you've been thru would be appreciated. I think it's always good for us to be out in the open of scams and tactics that are currently be used against individuals. Thanks and best to each of you out in the jungle.

The Villages Insurance was recently purchased/merged/rebranded/?? by the Baldwin Group.

Nearly ten years ago we used The Villages Insurance to get our policy through Progressive. I've received emails about the new name but I've never had an inspection or been asked for trust information.

Could this be either the original insurance company or the new company working through the Agent at The Baldwin Group which was formerly The Villages Insurance?

Some time back, The Villages Insurance were renamed to The Baldwin Group. My understanding is they have been part of this larger group and have rebranded and now have access to more vendors. If your property is held in a trust or the mortgage is part of a trust, home owners need this information so they can properly pay/notify the trust in the event of a claim.
I am "hearing" that some insurance companies are requiring a roof inspection before insuring and/or requiring a "roof deductible" separate from the normal deductible.

All insurances share information. Only you have to request and pay for your history.

In response to an inspection, after we had the insurance & moved in, the insurance company contacted us stating they needed to do an outside inspection. They said we do not need to be home but will ring the doorbell when they arrive. They found two minor things which I fixed myself. No other inspections after that.
