Default How many courses now to get a tee time

So on the average for all you scheduling your group's tee time, how many courses do you now have to put in for to get a tee time for a foursome? I know extending time to play and keeping the group's average points down help. Just looking for examples.

Executive or Championship?
When I was organizing a group I would prioritize time over location (just what my group decided would be the better way to go), but I was giving a pretty wide time window, like 9 AM to 1PM), and then I would just list a dozen courses in the order of preference. It was all over the map. Some weeks I'd get the first choice, some weeks I'd get the 6th choice. I don't think I ever got shut out.

This was for Executive play. You can do the same thing for Championship play, but your time windows are weird because some courses to "waves" and others do straight tee times.

If you are asking about execs this is what I do during high season. I divide TV into three sections. I put in all the courses within that section and I also put in target time plus and minus at least one hour either way. Never ever put in a guest if possible. A guest will put your entire group into tier 2 selection regardless of points.
- north of 466 = 13 courses
- 466 to 466A = 16 courses
- south of 466A = 17 courses

Default Always gotten a course south of 466A

Just put in 7 days prior, we have always gotten our first choice. Just use the tee time site Villages.net. Like another said, don’t have guests!

Typically 20-24 courses and a 4-5 hour window starting around 9AM with 12-16 players. During snowbird season, 2.5 or higher average number of points will often result in a denial. Less than 1.0 average number of points will often result in a tee time at the requested time on a course high up in the list. I exclude anyone with more that 3 points during snowbird season. With a smaller group, such as yours with a single foursome, the results might be different.

I did neglect to state executive courses. True. I would agree putting in for less than 14 or 16 courses for a foursome will not get you a tee time never mind including a guest. Not enough tee times for the number of golfers right now.

Plenty of Tee Times in the Southern end of the Villages.

14 executive course south of 466A. Occasionally add 3 or 4 between 466A and 466. 9am to 2pm. Priority time 10am. We have two foursome’s.

Favorite is Loblolly but Laurel Oaks is starting to grow on me. We have 3 more execs opening soon! Can’t wait.

For those not knowing "where" or "how far away" are the exec/champ courses, there is a sortable table with cart driving times and mileage from each of the town squares as a starting point...Plus an interactive map where you can filter out "only" the exec courses..

Visit Map of Locations (selectable) - The Villages 101 or Golf course database

I used to go to the southern end of the villages to play golf on Mondays signed as a single. I'd go eat breakfast. Enjoy some golf. Stop somewhere on the way back for a cold one and lunch. Lowlands is my favorite but I liked the others as well. I may start doing it again when the snowbirds leave.
