My bad, you are correct, I mistakenly thought it was Spectrum providing DSL in my area. Spectrum doesn’t provide service where I live, it’s Century Link and they provide DSL. Unfortunately, it’s either DSL or Xfinity where our house is so it looks like we are captive to Comcast. Lack of competition sucks.

We are also fed up with Xfinity. We signed up with Quantum Fiber. The whole process was amazing! For $30.00 a month we now get lightning speed internet (over 200 speed)! We stream everything on our TV and are extremely happy! I would recommend it to anyone! There is no contract either!

Positive. Says so on the "your billing cycle has ended" email advisory I get each month when they charge my credit card for the service.

Yes, technically it is unlimited since they don't cut you off. However, switching from 5G speeds to 1.5Mbps would certainly feel like being cut off.

On the other hand, it doesn't look like I have ever used more than 20GB in a month so perhaps I need to reconsider.

We live between 466A and 44 and CenturyLink home Internet no longer working for our streaming tv service. We are trying T-mobile because that is our cellphone carrier but the 2 routers they gave us have not worked. T-mobile is sending a third one but my guess is it won’t be any better. Customer service assures us they service our area but I remain skeptical.

Tried a year ago and they strung me along for three months 3 routers hours of trouble shooting and finally admitted their network is still being built twerked etc and it should be good in six months. That would ha been last November 2022. They also said we were too close to the tower so the signal went over us. Good luck.

You are good to be cautious about giving out your SS#. It is required for financial accounts including credit checks. The forms that doctor offices ask you to fill out frequently have a space to enter SS#. I leave it blank. I give them my insurance card, but not SS# !!

You’re exactly right, there’s other ways they could get your S.S. # like credit card. My wife & I both have T-Mobile & they never ask me for a S. S.#. Also they never walked away my credit card they took my info right there in front of me.

Xfinity requires it also in order to run a credit check before giving you equipment. If you check, I suspect you will find they already have yours. If you call them for services of some sort they ask you for either your account number or social security number in addition to your phone number for the account.

Yes... We have a landline up north that our alarm system is wired to.

It's cheaper and easier to keep it rather than update the system to an internet based alarm system...

If all you use are your iPhone or iPad (phones or tablets), T-Mobile is cheaper and far, far faster than Verizon. If you need TV and wi-fi service in your home, you'll need a service that provides those services, like Xfinity/Comcast, etc.
