Default It's a Beautiful Night in The Villages!

We don't go to the squares a lot. In fact, we got up here in October, and have only been a handful of times. We went tonight. Nice band at Sumter. Not too crowded at all. Possibly because they are a new and unheard of band, not one of the "favorites" that draw big crowds.
I didn't see one obviously drunk person staggering around ( I never have, BTW, but on another thread I took issue with someone who said the squares are overrun with drunks staggering about)...I had the wife, the son, the daughter-in-law, and two grandkids. We had a wonderful time, they danced (I didn't, I'm a bit sore tonight from too much pickleball lately), and a delightful walk along the water, followed by an extremely pleasant cart ride home on a balmy, breezy evening.
Sometimes it all just comes together perfectly.

Gotta love this place.

Sometimes life is what we make it. Have always had a great time at the squares. Good to hear y'all did.

nice...glad you had an enjoyable evening

I love the life style here...there is so much going on here, one can't help but find
something that will bring them joy....

And there's a lot to be said about the ability to just kick back and take a stroll along the boardwalks
with the people that mean a lot to you

It was a lovely evening. We sat out on our patio having a cocktail and some neighbors joined us. Nice breeze, no bugs, life is good.

That's a place I always take first-time visitors. If we're lucky we get to see the sun go down over the lake. Pure paradise.

I believe that some evening the squares might be quite nice to attend, I used to like it a lot myself. However:

“For anyone who keeps an eye on Census data, last week's news that the fastest-growing metropolitan statistical area in the country is the Villages, the master-planned retirement community in Florida, was not surprising. In ten years, it grew from 93,000 people to nearly 130,000 residents, about 40 percent.Aug 20, 2021” Google

And according to the Daily Sun about 5% more since last year at this time. That is a lot of people. And that is just the residents.

"Nobody goes there because it's too crowded". ???? How can it be too crowded if no one goes there?

Evidently you are unfamiliar with the Tao of Yogi (Berra).

Velvet. It has been the fastest growing for years. What does that have to do with this thread?
If you don’t like it, your home would sell for top dollar. I think it is nice that all 3 squares are busy now. Never though Brownwood was going to fill in.
