Default Gardenia Garage Addition?

We have a Gardenia on a very small lot- no room for additions to the side or back. Has anyone ever added a golf cart garage to the front of the existing garage? What is the minimum setback from the street? I'm not really interested in adding it to the front of my breakfast area and losing my porch and front window ala the "Begonia". Any opinions, knowledge or experience welcome.

I have checked and it can be done to the front of the dining area. Not sure how you plan to add it to the front of the existing garage unless you take the entire garage forward and make it deeper. That would depend on set back from the street, elevation of the driveway and type of roof line. I believe I read someplace that the minimum set back from the street is 25 feet for single family homes.

You may want to check with the Architectural review board. I would love to do something like that at our house - we have the same situation, but I assumed that it would not be allowed. Let us know if you find out differently!!...thanks.

I'm bumping one last time in hopes of more responses, I guess it must be unusual to extend a garage toward the street based upon the lack of response, but its my only hope for increased space. Thanks

Bump away... Until you get an answer... Even though this isn't my question... I'm watching to see the answer as well..
