We finally made the big move to TV. We got here Saturday and have been driving around trying to get the lay of the land. Getting around pretty good, but we can't find the dog parks. Buddy and Vera are happy running around in the back yard, but we would like to take them to a dog park. Does anyone have directions or an address I can put in my GPS? We are in St. James village.
TIA

There are 4 parks, two are very far from you. The closest is the one at Buena Vista and St. Charles behind the fire station. St. Charles changes it name to Bonita at that intersection. Directions: From St. James go south on St. Charles to Buena Vista roundabout and take third exit north on Buena Vista, like you're going to Seabreeze Rec Center. Continue north about two miles until you get to the St. Charles/Bonita roundabout. Take the first exit and fire station will be on your left. The park is small, on a hillside and very shaded, so it may be damp. Check it out for yourself, but it's not great.
New dog park opened two weeks ago in the newest homes area, Atlas Dog Park. Directions: from St. James get on Buena Vista and head south to 466A, turn left at the light like you're going to Colony Shopping Center. In 3 miles at next light turn right onto Morse. Proceed to second roundabout, Hillsborough/Moyer Loop. Take the third exit Moyer Loop, go 1/2 mile past Belle Glade Country Club, road deadends in about 300 yards and dog park will be on your right along with a new nature park observatory lookout. Park is big and flat but has no shade. Suggestion: stop in Belle Glade Country Club and ask for the $5 map, and buy one. PS: Welcome to The Villages, I live in your general area near Sterling Heights Rec Center, Village of Tamarind Grove. |

Wildwood runs a dog park that's large and shaded. It's right off Powell Road on Huey Street. Went there once recently with our little fuzzy four-legged children. They seemed to like it.

We like Doggie do run run, a private park. 10 acres separated into 4 areas, a small dog area, a mid size area, a very large area for all dogs and a training area. The cost is $3 per day or $25 per month for one dog and $30 per month for 2 dogs. It is a great place for dogs, and you don't have to pick up the poop, the park owners do that. It is located on CR 101 about 1 mile north of 466, it is not golf cart accessible. CR 101 runs north of 466 opposit of Belevedere .
