Question Tunnel Maintenance

Who is responsible for maintaining the tunnels in The Villages. The one that leads to Walmart is a total disgrace. There is all types of debris accumulating in it. Is there someone to notify?

Glad this was asked as I also noticed recently that it is a mess.

Tunnel maintenance within the numbered CDDs is probably the responsibility of either the numbered CDD or central district.

However, the tunnel just before you get to Walmart, I would think, is on private property....I believe the developer owns all that commercial property. A call to CDD customer service should clarify and perhaps they can redirect you or make the right call.

I called Property management a year ago and asked when thy were going to install lights in the tunnel that takes you under Buena Vista adjacent to the first green Palmers' Cherry Hill course. They said soon. I am still waiting. Pedestrians use that tunnel and pre-dawn and at dusk you can'see them

Don't blame it on us frogs. It could be wind-blown debris that ends up in the tunnel.

As I was driving by the tunnel at Walmart today I noticed a One Source truck & trailer parked on the grass along side the tunnel at the NYPD end. the trailer was full of palm fronds etc. Hopefully the tunnel was being cleaned.

Good news. That hole where the post used to be as you are driving down into the tunnel heading towards the Walmart Supercenter seems to have been there for months. At least, the broken pieces are out of it.

Now if only someone would look at the tunnel by Lake Miona under Buena Vista. Is that black mold in that creepy spider effect? Have never seen that in any other tunnel. I emailed the district.gov a while back and got no reply.

We went through the tunnel yesterday and it was clean. Thanks for all the feedback on this.
